Corduroy, an ancestral fabric, continues to please. Formidable fabric which dyes in multiple colors and is declined in small and large stripes (from 16 to 8 ribs per inch). It was for a long time the king for the clothes of the farm and the forest, with robust ribs. In the 70’s, velvet suits were commonplace, watch an episode of Columbo! For jackets, it remains a winter staple, warm and soft.

We select medium-ribbed velvets, around 10 to 12, for an expressive and modern surface. The velvet is made in two steps on very special machines. Two smooth sheets, like cotton chinos, are inserted into a loom, a few millimeters apart.

Needles weave the ribs, which are then like millions of bridges connecting the two sheets. At the end of the loom, razor blades cut these millions of bridges, which makes the two sheets come out independently, which then present stripes of upright hairs. Velvet is born. A pleasure of comfort in the cold season.

The manufacturer who designed this cup is the Caminel workshop with whom we have been working since ….. Created in 2017, with a crazy dream, that of creating their workshop and their brand entirely made in France. The craft industry offers us possibilities that the large-scale distribution does not have, and in particular the quality. Production is controlled from start to finish. This allows us to offer products of incomparable quality.

Dry cleaning is highly recommended for the wool product. However, it should not be done often: only once a year, or even less! A simple steam ironing at home or at the dry cleaner’s is enough in most cases to remove odors, bacteria and to give the jacket a good look.
