The Steps in Creating a Suit

Made-to-measure offers an alternative to ready-to-wear – for a similar cost, or just slightly more, you can fully personalize your suit, from the fabric to the cut.

The process

Having a unique garment made to your wishes is both a pleasure and a more responsible choice. In a market where quality is often lost, meeting an artisan who is as committed to his client as to his craft means choosing both trust and awareness.

A Craft in Constant Evolution

An ancestral craft, tailoring has evolved over the decades to meet faster-paced lifestyles, while embracing digital tools that have ushered in a new era.

This renewal does not forsake the precision or beauty of handwork, but through made-to-measure makes such expertise more accessible — an elegant way to dress men, uniting tradition and modernity.

Fabric

The first step in our atelier is selecting fabrics, presented in swatch books that bring together a wide range of qualities: versatile woolens, tweeds, frescos, and more. Depending on your wishes, certain selections will be highlighted.

These fabrics come from the world’s finest mills, true artisans who transform wool and cotton into noble, refined cloths. At Scavini, we collaborate with renowned houses such as Holland & Sherry in the UK, Vitale Barberis Canonico and Loro Piana in Italy, to offer you exceptional fabrics.

Style

Made-to-measure lets you configure your jacket to match your style: a one-button shawl collar for a tuxedo, a two-button notch lapel for a contemporary look, or three buttons for a more classic cut.

Beyond the overall silhouette, every detail matters — from pockets, lining, and buttons to trouser finishes. We guide you through these choices to create a garment that is both elegant and personal.

Measurements

The creation of a made-to-measure garment begins with measurements taken from adjusted fitting models. A unique pattern is then created, tailored to every detail of your morphology to ensure a flawless drape.

Our goal: to combine a perfect cut with the finest fabrics to bring out your best.

Fitting

Production times range from 4 to 6 weeks.

When the garment arrives, a thirty-minute fitting allows us to refine the final details — hem, sleeves, waist — to ensure a perfect drape.

Delivery

After alterations made by our Parisian workshops, a final fitting ensures everything is perfectly adjusted. Your garment is then delivered, presented on a hanger and protected in its cover.

The Scavini Touch

At Scavini, we work from our own patterns and style codes to ensure the highest standards of quality and elegance. A Scavini suit is immediately recognizable.

In the world of made-to-measure, approaches vary widely: some favor speed or standardization at the expense of fit. We take the opposite path — taking time, adjusting with care, starting over if necessary. Our ultimate goal remains the same: to create garments that enhance you and prove that a beautiful suit or coat can be a true ‘passport to happiness.
