Trousers

We can create the made-to-measure trousers of your dreams – from cotton chinos to whipcord, and of course, classic flannel. When it comes to fabric and style, the choice is entirely yours. Everything is possible.

To make a pair of trousers

Having a unique garment made for oneself, according to one’s own taste, is both a pleasure and a conscious act as a consumer.

In today’s fashion market – often opaque and where quality is hard to discern – meeting a tailor, a true craftsman, equally connected to his client and his workshop, brings reassurance.

It’s an approach rooted in mindfulness and intention.

To have tailored trousers made

Have you discovered Scavini ready-to-wear? We offer a complete collection of trousers, designed to suit the seasons and a variety of styles.

And if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for, we also craft made-to-measure trousers – from cotton chinos to flannel, including robust whipcord. Anything is possible.

Starting from one of our four base cuts, we tailor the fit and details to your morphology and personal preferences – to create a model that’s uniquely yours.

The overall cut of the trousers

We work from four foundational trouser cuts, which we invite you to try on to determine the one that offers you the best comfort and fit.

From this starting point, numerous adjustments can be made: thigh width, tapering of the leg, waistband height… You’ll then choose from a range of options including pockets, pleats, waistband styles, and finishing details.

Throughout the appointment, our experts guide you to ensure every detail reflects your personal taste.

The trouser pockets

Trousers typically feature side pockets as well as back pockets. It’s also possible to add a front coin pocket (also known as a watch or fob pocket) as an additional detail.

Side Pockets

Slanted, seam, or Western-style pockets?

Simple and functional, elegant and discreet, or practical and relaxed – the choice is yours!
Back pockets

Welt pockets or flap pockets?

Welt pockets: the classic choice. You can opt for one or two.
Flap pockets: a more casual, sportier alternative!

Watch pocket or Fob pocket

A traditional tailoring detail!
The coin pocket can be made with or without a flap.
Historically, this pocket was used to hold a pocket watch – hence the name.

Front crease or pleats?

As a standard, the crease on a well-cut pair of men’s trousers is always pressed in with an iron. It gradually fades out toward the top of the thigh. An alternative is one or more pleats – folds of fabric taken into the waistband to provide extra volume at the thigh. By contrast, this creates the impression of a slimmer waist. It’s a silhouette characteristic of 1930s elegance.

Single pleat

A tailoring-inspired look, perfectly in step with the times!
A well-made pleat instantly gives a pair of trousers a sartorial touch. A single pleat adds subtle volume without overdoing it. It can be made to face inward or outward, depending on the desired style.

Double pleats

Traditional elegance with added comfort!
Double pleats give trousers a subtle vintage flair while providing generous volume through the thigh for greater ease and movement.
The pleats can be made to face inward or outward, depending on your preferred style.

Trousers waistband

Trousers are generally made with six fabric belt loops, designed to hold a leather belt. Another option is to add side adjusters, featuring metal-buckle tabs for a clean, belt-free look. All of our trousers also come with interior brace buttons, allowing you to wear them with suspenders if you wish.

And why not the Gurkha waistband?

Why not be tempted by a Gurkha cut?

This distinctive, military-inspired model features two pleats and an original fastening tab. The side straps close with buckle fastenings on either side.

Trouser Waistband – Other Options

It’s not only about belt loops or side adjusters — the fastening style and waistband thickness also come into play. So many options to choose from.

Waistband

Extended Waistband Tab

A charming detail: the trouser fastening button is set slightly to the side.
A line that is both clean and full of style — the perfect touch of flair!

High Waistband with Offset Tab

It is also possible to alter the waistband height for a more opulent look — one that supports the stomach and emphasizes a high waist. The two small buttons add an extra touch of style.
Waistband

Fishtail

The ‘fishtail’ finish refers to a waistband that rises high at the back, over the lower back, to hold suspenders. Superbly elegant on a vintage-style trouser or a morning coat trouser.

Trouser Fly

Finally, the choice is yours between a zip fly — more practical and modern — or a button fly, for a more vintage look.

Simple. The ready-to-wear standard.

Button Fly

Traditional. Why keep it simple when you can make it sophisticated?

Tailoring for Women?

We do not create women’s jackets, which require specific expertise. However, we regularly tailor made-to-measure trousers à la garçonne, in a variety of fabrics ranging from heavy wool to lightweight linen. The options remain the same, but the discussion around leg volume — in relation to the desired style and choice of shoes — becomes especially important. An exercise we particularly enjoy.
